Myanmar's political transition has been closely watched by observers in the country, in China and around the world. Following a win by Aung San Suu Kyi's NLD party at last year's elections, the new government has now been sworn in.
So, what should we expect from this new government? What are the main challenges the country is facing? And how will this affect relations between Myanmar and China?
Ni hao, you're listening to People In the Know, presenting you with insights into the headlines in China and around the world. I'm Nick Lanigan in Beijing.
To find out more about Myanmar's new government, Nick Lanigan spoke to Damien Kingsbury, Professor of International Politics at Deakin University and Board Member of the Australia Myanmar Institute, and Dai Yonghong, Research Professor of International Relations and Director of the Center for Myanmar Studies at Sichuan University.
